A very scarce chance to buy an early Stanley 45 Plane with the bases.
This Stanley 45 multi plane came to us from an elderly local man whose woodworking father had previously owned.
It comes complete with the rare bases and even more very scarcely all the respective cutters for the bases:
6H, 6R
8H, 8R
10H, 10R
12H, 12R
Quite a few of the base cutters are marked with a patent 'Pat'd Feb 23, 1886'.
There was also an old steel triangle in with this plane so we have included this also.
The early Stanley 45 planes had a slightly different design to the more common later Stanley 45's.
This Stanley 45 has what looks to be its original plane parts plus at some point in its long history (most likely in the early years) the previous owner appears to have added a later fence section with Rosewood front knob to replace the old early fence section which was designed without a wooden knob.

A great bit of history from the dawn of Stanley plane design and making during the Victorian era. How excited must the Victorian carpenter have been when first buying this during the time of wooden planes.
Condition: the early fence section has a very old historical weld repair, the bottom holes of one of the fences are stiff initially when putting on the end of the rods then slides fine, please see photos for condition.
